OUR MISSION STATEMENT
- To Educate our membership in order to continually improve in vocal quality, performance, and personal fulfillment in the barbershop style of singing;
- To promote and participate in charitable and community vocal education projects;
- To promote public appreciation of Barbershop Harmony.
The Siouxland Discovery Chorus has had an emphasis the past several years to sing at least three benefit concerts each year in addition to Singing Valentines and singing for more than 36 Churches each summer and many nursing homes each Christmas. Also we have helped organize and supported Youth in harmony programs in Sioux City and Holstein IA. A recent tally of our efforts show that in the past three years The Siouxland Discovery Chorus has benefited Siouxland nonprofit groups and community efforts to the tune of $23,000

WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of men that enjoy singing close a cappella harmony. Some say what we do is a great hobby. I profess to you that it is more than that when you are looking into the eyes of a bedridden patient or a residents eyes in a senior center, as you sing to them “White Christmas” or an old standard love song. It is great to share the emotion of an individual who has been sent a singing Valentine from the love of their life. What one individual can do with music is very special. What a quartet or chorus can do is extraordinary.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The Siouxland Discovery Chorus is currently seeking corporate and private sponsors for our chorus. On-going sponsorships as well as one-time donations will enable us to achieve our mission and goals. We are a 501-3-C non-profit entity (EIN#421094454) so donations are tax deductible.
